Storm Damage: Are your trees ready for the next storm?

We've been busy all week helping folks clean up after Tuesday's storm.  While it was a quick one, it was certainly powerful, and around here Hamilton, MA seemed to get hit the hardest.  We saw trees on decks, trees on boats, trees that punched holes through roofs, got hung up in other trees, took out power lines - and more mess than we've seen in a while.

As is the case with any unexpected loss, we all instinctively hold our loved ones a little closer and reflect on how we fared or how lucky we got. In the aftermath of a storm, we as homeowners look around our properties with a more critical and weary eye - wondering what hazards exist, whether obvious or hidden.

While there is, of course, no guarantee that you can prevent storm damage, there are a number of things you can do to not only assess the integrity of the trees on your property - but also give them their best chance of surviving a storm.  Looking around any property in the aftermath of a storm - whether you got hard hit or made it through safely - truly drives home the importance of proactive tree care.

If you have storm damage that needs clearing - or would like to have us come out to assess your trees and map out a plan for your property - give us a shout.  And, don't forget, if you have storm damage your homeowners insurance may cover the costs - reach out to your insurance company to see how you're covered.
